The essential purpose of education is to train men for profession. One of the problems being discussed in the elementary education is to discover what kind of men we shall train and how to educate them. Traditional education treats teachers as subjects and students as objects. Teaching is organized by the teachers, which pay little attention to the students' interests and concerns. It is the educational systems that make the students fit in with teachers' teaching instead of making .teachers serve students' studies. Teachers lay their emphasis on passing on knowledge while neglecting students' dynamic and active roles. Cramming education is a form of expression and coercive measures are obvious characteristics. Not only does it lose contact with the practical needs of social development, but also it restricts the development of the students' individualities and damages the educatees' body and mind. So my thesis comes as a response to discontent with the traditional education. It emphasizes the importance and necessity of carrying out the subjective education and how to train the students' subjective sense in accordance with Marx's theory on the human's all-round and free development. To begin with, in terms of the educational status quo in the developed countries and the traditional education in China, the thesis elaborates on the importance and necessity of cultivating subjectivity of individuals and systematically reveals different schools of academic thoughts on the relationship between students and teachers. Meanwhile the present methods of pedagogical experiments on subjectivity in China are revealed as follows: l.Encouaging students' autonomy. 2. Developing students' subjective activities. 3. Motivating students' creativity. Then some typical cases are adopted to show how to guide students to having skills of self-education, self-conduction and self-management. Alter a careful and systematic studyfrom theory and practice, conclusions are drawn as follows: 1. Teaching procedures full of students activities are the key to creating the students subjectivity. 2. Training students' independent consciousness is an effective way to develop the students' subjectivity. 3.Giving full scope to teachers' guidance is an essential prerequisite for the formation of students' subjectivity.Besides, the thesis also reveals the factors that prevent the subjective education from being carried out and the requests required by students, teachers and classes. To conclude, I argue that carrying out subjective education means liberating individuals, means the course of training the students' sense of self-education, independent management and creativity, which will surely lay solid foundation for their lifelong studies.
