| This paper first sets forth the historical evolution of the concept "Teacher Education" and the trend of the development of mathematics tsaching as a profession, gives an introduction of the development of teacher education home and abroad and the mathematics teacher education in our country under the requirement of teacher professionalization.Then, based on the investigations of some schools and teacher educational institutions in Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou, we focus on the present condition of mathematics teacher education of middle school in the Sunan area.After analyzing the condition, the author sums up the following primary characteristics: (1) being able to classify training according to different teacher career stages development; (2) aiming at higher academic credentials; (3) attaching importance to the trainings of modern educational technology, of educational research ability and of bilingual teaching ability; (4) paying attention to forming close connection between experienced teachers and greenhorns.Finally, as far as the mathematics teacher education in the Sunan area is concerned, the author puts forwards some suggestions. Namely, teachers should be regarded as adult learners; the growth of mathematics teachers is a socialization process; the characteristics of mathematics teaching should be emphasized in training; we must form a correct idea about the trainings of modern educational technology; advocate the reflective model of teacher education. |
