The improvement of mathematics education bases on mathematics teachers. Thus, how to improve the quality of mathematics teacher education is an important and urgent task. Mathematics education and mathematics teacher education in Singapore are both advanced in the world. We can learn from them.Mathematics teacher education in Singapore has eight features, they are: various training models; training standard of middle school teacher is high and primary school teachers have three choices to develop themselves; the courses are abundant, integrated and keep an eye teachers' understanding of basic mathematics concepts; the courses tight higher-grade and elementary mathematics closely; the courses contact theory and practice closely and information technology is also payed attention; mathematics teacher education contacts school's teaching practice closely; many systems ensure the quality of mathematics teacher education; mathematics teacher education is incorporate.The unique training models and courses in Singapore regard mathematics teacher education as a speciality. They help mathematics teachers a lot. Now mathematics teacher education in Singapore is effective and mathematics teachers' quality is high. So it is good for us to learn from them.We conceive a "high-quality mathematics teacher education character" model. And we design two questionnaires to find out our actual status of mathematics teacher education. According to the model and the results of questionnaires, we got conclusions as following: there is a big difference between our mathematics teacher education and "high-quality mathematics teacher education character" model in training models, setting courses, teaching methods and ensuring measures.We learn the experience of Singapore and conceive a "high-quality mathematics teacher education character" model. We aimed at finding out our problems. Our final goal is to improve the quality of our mathematics teacher education. Finally, we have some suggestions: realize the character of specialized mathematics teacher; mathematics teacher education must think much of teachers' deep understanding on both mathematics and education.
