Research Of The Problem Of The Birth Sex Rate In Hunan Province

It's an undisputable truth that the birth sex rate has been seriously imbalance in our country and that of Hunan province is gravely high. The fifth census of 2000 shows that the birth sex rate of Hunan province is 126.16 which is higher about 20 points than normal one (102-107) and lists the fifth in our nation . Not only does the birth sex rate relate to the benefits of the people , but also to the stability and sustainable development of our country . If enough attention isn't paid to it, the consequence would be disastrous . This paper , based on the investigation of fertility willingness of some local people and analysis of relative data , develops to analyze and study the problem of the birth sex rate of Hunan province .The main results of the paper include : Investigate the fertility willingness of some rural people of Hunan province . The results show that peferring for boy is the basic reason of the problem of the birth sex rate . Review the relative theories of the birth sex rate and theoretical research on relative elements such as number of birth , numeral of mother's fertility , fertility rate , fertility policy , statistic quality , fertility culture , marriage opinion and management. Forecast the basic law and tendency of development of Hunan birth sex rate . The forecast suggests if the effective measures don't adopted , Hunan birth sex rate will be critically higher than the normal one in 5 to 10 years . Reveal the characteristics of Hunan birth sex rate which include : the situation of whole birth sex rate is terrible ; the birth sex rate of every district of Hunan province is still high and basically no place has the normal rate ; the rising of the birth sex rate has the evident district characteristics ; the rising of the birth sex rate follows the climbing of numeral of mother's fertility ; the birth sex rate is really rising ; the difference of the birth sex rate between town and country is large and the abnormal rate is chiefly in the rural. Propose three means and approaches to solve the problem of Hunan birth sex rate : adjusting fertility policy , prompting new marriage culture and the whole management of fertility behavior .
