By examining closely the dramatic changes at home and abroad, researching the objective facts of the current higher education, analysing the reason why the ideological education is ineffective on some levels, establishing the vital significance of the ideological education from the perspective of the method, being guided by Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong thought, Deng Xiaoping theory and three represents, drawing lessons from the relevant theories of other subjects, insisting on the combination of the theoretical and practical education, of the inheritance and creativeness, of the science and humanity, of subjective and objective body, of multi-dimensions and levels, construct the multi-dimensional mode id the ideological education on college students.Through assimilating the ancient and the present times, we draw lessons from the other's mode, that is, the ideological education of the college students should stick to and lean from the Chinese ancient moral education and from the practical experience of the contemporary ideological education at home and abroad. We think this mode is a mode at different levels from macro-to-micro. Studying of the multi-dimensions from the macro, middle and micro, analysing the ideological education actions at all levels and the effects on the ideological states of the college students, we probe the method of the ideological education. The second mode is the interacting mode which stresses on the equality and the coordination. In this mode, the educator and the students are the two main bodies of interacting and mutual effects, and they should abide by the rule of interacts and dialectics.The third mode is a optimisation which combined the surface with the depth and with the proper disposition. Basing on the optimising campus culture environment, directing by the dominant education, emphasizing the recessive education, this mode can give full play to the resource potential of the ideological education. The forth is a coordinating mode with scientific management and mutual efforts. In this mode we construct the management and the process of the ideological education from the point of schemes, measures and principles so that we can evaluate its effects either from the quantifier or from the qualitative and arouse all the aspects to form a joint management. The fifth is a flexible mode with some standards and concrete efforts. The ideological education must obey some relative rules and regulations. However, we should use flexible methods when we meet the changes, the sudden accidents and even the different objects. The sixth is all-member mode which is based on the whole campus and network. This mode stresses that while the higher colleges exerts the ideological education, they should emphasize the same education on all the college members, and enlarge the exchanges and the coordination with other colleges, and mobilize families and all other social parts to join in order to form a comprehensive educational network.These methods are interactive and inter-infiltrative, forming a method system, providing guarantee for realizing the aim of ideological education of college students and completing the task of ideological education of college students.
