In recent years, with the reform and development of higher education in China, thehigher education in arts has experienced from the stage of specialization to popularization. Inaddition to few arts institutions of higher learning that have opened up new professions toexpand the enrollment range, some regular institutions of higher learning have also set upsome arts professions like broadcasting and hosting, stage performance and arts design, etc.Setting up arts professions in the regular institutions of higher learning is an innovateinitiative of China’s higher education. On one hand, it indeed contributes to the improvementof overall quality of colleges; on the other hand, it pushes the ideological and politicaleducation of college to face greater challenges. Since the ideological and political educationto arts students is lacking in both the support of systematic theory and the conclusion ofpractical experience, this paper, therefore, focuses on briefly summarizing the organizationapproaches and practical education in the process of ideological and political education,which is under the guidance of the theory of ideological and political education and based onthe characteristics of art students, thereby concludes the ideological and political educationmodes towards arts students in regular institutions of higher learning and enriches theideological and political education theory of arts majors.This paper discusses the construction of ideological and political education modestowards arts majors in regular institutions of higher learning from4parts.The first part focuses on analyzing the characteristics and causes of arts students inregular institutions of higher learning, which describes their characteristics in detail from the5aspects of ideology and moral, humanistic quality, daily behavior, psychological quality andprofessional ideas. Furthermore, the effects of some factors like the prosperity of marketeconomy, the restructuring of social environment, the reform of higher education, thediversified development of information and the arts major features, etc. on the formation ofarts students characteristics are systematically analyzed.The second part mainly analyzes the current situation of ideological and politicaleducation towards arts majors in regular institutions of higher learning. Based on theaffirmation of achievements, this part shows the problems of ideological and politicaleducation towards arts majors in regular institutions of higher learning existing in the3aspects of education subject, education content and education object and thereby sums up thechallenges of the ideological and political education in regular institutions of higher learningby analyzing the problems.The third part mainly comes up with the guiding ideology, principles and ideallyachieved goals of the mode construction of ideological and political education in regularinstitutions of higher learning.The fourth part elaborates in detail the3modes of ideological and political education inregular institutions of higher learning, which are the “interactive” mode,“triune” mode and“multi-dimensional” mode, respectively. Aimed at each mode with difference, the authorspecifically elaborates the method of implementing each mode. The “interactive” mode includes: the interactive education method of teaching and learning, the emotional educationmethod of using emotions to move people and the subjective education method of self-management; the “triune” mode includes: the education method of improving systems andnorms, the education method of referring and absorbing and the education method ofcommunicating and understanding; the “multi-dimensional” mode includes: the educationmethod of systematic study of theory, the education method of experiencing and practicingand the education method of explicit-implicit combination. These modes are all interrelated,interacted, inter-infiltrated and inter-played, which connect with each other and thereforejointly provide protection for the completion of ideological and political education task forarts majors.
