The thesis expatiates the relationship of government, market and university from historical and practical, domestic and international views, and based on the university autonomy. The study contributes to solve these questions: first, define function and role of government; second, find out effect and action of market; third, how to solve the problems and balance the relationship.The study is based on the research of these questions and the thesis consists of five parts.Part 1: Prescribe the present situation about the ralationship of government, market and university in domestic education fields.Part 2: Analysis the ralationship of government, market and university based on the university autonomy.Part 3: The history of development of the east and western university give a clue to research the history of the relationship among three sides.Part 4: Based on the production nature of high education to analysis the relationship from the apart and the whole views.Part 5: Define the location of the university in the relationship is the weak. And provide some concrete measures in theory and practice to the construction of the institution of university autonomy.
