In recent years, researchers and clinical therapists focus more attention on hyponosis. But in China it' s not enough for researchers to study hypnotic therapy. It' s important and significant for us to pay more attention on hypnotic research and clinical application.This article overviewed the abroad development of hypnosis research including the essence of hypnosis, biological mechanism, the related hypnotic theories, hypnotic phenomenon and clinical application. Hypnotic suggestibility and hypnotic induction are also studied which tightly affect clinical counselling.The second part investigates the results of group training in university students. Group training courses had been designed eight times according to the situation of university students which had been divided into two groups according to hypnotic suggestibility. We compared the mental health level and self-acceptance degree after the group hypnotic training. The consquense shows the group of high hypnotic suggestibility can be trained to improve the degree of self-acceptance as well as the mental health level, especially the factors of body symptom, relationship, depression, anxious, hostile. The group of low hypnotic suggestibility shows indistinctive improvement of self-acceptance extent. But this group has apparent raise of two factors: anxitity and fear.The third part----case study reports three cases including emotionalproblem, neurasthenic, bulimia which use hypnotic therapy in university students couselling. The cases had received goog therapeutic effects according to the investigation afterwards. Three cases are reported in details and rethinked carefully about the application of hypnotic therapy in counselling and treatment of university students.Based on above group and indivitual studies, the author points out some conclusions about clinical hypnotherapy and research plans in the future.
