Breast cancer is the most common malignant tumor in women worldwide.Breast cancer is different from other cancers,and its externalities make some patients’ self-acceptance degree lower,which affects their family harmony and social integration,at present,the academic circles focus on relieving the pressure of breast cancer patients and establishing social support network,and pay less attention to patients’ self-acceptanceThis paper focuses on patient self-acceptance from the perspective of ABC theory,Using Questionnaire Survey,literature research and semistructured interviews to collect data,the author tried to help the patients with self-acceptance after total mastectomy in s hospital through case work.The self-acceptance of the patients after total resection was evaluated by using self-acceptance scale(SAS),which was validated by reliability and validity,on the basis of fully respecting the wishes of patients and their family members,the family members and friends of patients are interviewed,the status quo of patients’ self-acceptance is analyzed,and further communication is carried out with the selected clients,the patients were found to lack unreasonable belief after operation.Finally,through the evaluation of service process and service effect,it is found that: First,the client can change his unreasonable rational belief;Second,the client can establish a reasonable rational belief;The degree of self-acceptance of the clients is much higher than before the intervention.Through the analysis and summary of the practice process,the following conclusions were drawn: First,rational-emotive therapy is effective in the patients after total mastectomy,and can solve the problem of low self-acceptance;Rational-emotive therapy is an effective intervention method for patients after total mastectomy.Case work can improve the self-acceptance ability of patients after total mastectomy,social workers play an important role in improving patients’ selfacceptance.Finally,I hope this study can provide some useful reference and help for the related medical social work practice research and clinical practice in this field.
