Humanity education is a popular topic which has been discussed by China educational theoretician since the middle age of 1990s. A series of specific terms such as Humanity essence Humanism Humanity education Humanity subjects and so on often arise in people's talks. Mixing together of humanity education and scientific education has reached agreement in higher education field. But some problems shouldn't be ignored .We understand terminology of Humanity essence Humanism and Humanity education from different angle even totally different, the relation between Humanity essence and university is short of expounding .Although there are some articles about Chinese Humanity education decline in studies, the articles all have not noticed the age background of China's modernization in the analysis of reasons of Humanity education decline. And the analysis reasons were short of valuing its history and the degree of the deep -going. And then by reviewing the process of modern university from its establishment to development, the paper analyze original connection between Humanity essence and modern university, showing Humanity essence is the soul of modern university.The second part review the ups and downs of Humanity education of our country university, then analyze our country current university humanity education decline present situation, and then the paper expound the serious effects of humanity education decline in university from two angles :the universities' development and function's service of university , humanity education decline leads to biased and narrow-minded,losing critique spirits, exhaustion in cultural creative power, incomplete of university spirits, humanity education decline brings about losing of student's humanity essence, dislocating of faith pursuing, landslip of morality. Humanity education decline leads to many kinds of social crisis which endanger social peace and development.The third part analyze the reasons of our country university humanity education decline. The writer thinks that the reasons chiefly rest with below: First of all , It is the fundamental reason of humanity education decline that science and technology education certainly requiring in the modernize building is intensified; Secondly, mislead to subjectivity and understanding is one reason.
