The paper discussed a realistic problem in modern middle education, i.e., delearning, to which the modern educational theories, primarily pedago-psychological theories were applied for the first time. It also carried out a special inquiry into the delearning to the ancient Chinese in middle students, and furthermore discussed the destiny of the traditional Chinese culture in modern times. The issue is a complicated one which is involved in the individual: the school, the society and the ideology. The discussion indicates, however, that the issue results from the present educational idea, the behaviorism determined by the utilitarianism, in the end. The educated is trained as automata who can only passively respond to the environmental stimuli, without the inner motivation and independent cognitive structure. In the sino-west culture conflicts, the behavioristically educated students accepted the west culture pragmatically, and the delearning to the ancient Chinese is an inevitable result.
