The Application Of Task-Based Language Teaching In The Senior High School

TBL is gaining popularity in China, and it is even proposed in the latest "English Curriculum Standard For Chinese Average Senior Schools'". This paper attempts to explore the experts' theory and principles on task-based language teaching and its application in El. I' classroom in senior high school. This paper analyzes some misunderstandings and deviations in the current English teaching and the advantages and disadvantages on practical application of TRET. The study puts forward a hypothesis that it is better for students to enhance their integrated linguistic competence when task-based language teaching is properly used.There are five parts in this paper. The first part discusses the situation of English teaching in China and brings forward the question discussed in this paper: How to make task-based language teaching facilitated in E.LT classroom. The second part illustrates the definitions of tasks and the components of tasks in English language teaching. It discusses its scientific ideas from a cognitive perspective and analyzes the teaching procedure. The third part sets out from the situation of the language leaching, and then analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the task-based language leaching model in ELT classroom. At last a teaching method is produced and an experiment is implemented. The fourth part analyzes the results of the experiment and discusses the validity of task-based language teaching. And then s "lies the merits and problems in the experiment and gives some suggestions. The fifth part states that every teaching method has its own advantages and disadvantages. It's advisable to develop and change it according to the practical situation rather than copy a teaching method in a blind haste.
