Curriculum is an important media and carrier for community education, the approach and means of its successful development, the key factor for realizing its purpose and function. How to guide, make and plan the community education curriculum, and put forward specialized curriculum to meet the needs of the interactive and continual development of the community and the resident are the chief tasks. The methods that the dissertation used are literature researching, questionnaire investigating, locale observing, interviewing and having colloquias.Chapter one—Introduction. On the basis of the analyzing of the social and practical backgrounds for the community education, the author puts forward the actual meaning of "community education curriculum development", and summarizes this proposition of the correlative concepts.Chapter two—Discussion for the theory of community education curriculum development. In this chapter, the author qualifies and explains some correlative concepts about community education curriculum development; and discussed the main theoretical foundation from four aspects: modern community theory (theory of community construction and community development), social hierarchical theory, theory of modern curriculum and adult-learning theory.Chater three—Status quo and problems in community education curriculum development. Based on the investigation results of the research on Zhabei District, Shanghai, etc, the author realises that whatever the content and the subject, which exist in the community educaiton curriculum, are obviously tend to be the same, and most of the attendees are old people, which weaken the interaction between the community and the resident. To these problems, this chapter explores the basic reasones for such phenomenon: the problems happened in the curriculum, but the reason exists in the developing of curriculum.Chapter Four—Studying the countermeasure on community education curriculum development. This chapter mainly discusses how to develop the curriculum effectively. Firstly, the author puts forward the basic principle that should be followed for the development of curriculum: based on community, but rooted on human. And then, starting from the situation of the nation and the community, this chapter gives the curriculum system of community education, which is suitable for both our socialistic system and community. At last, the author writes the curriculum development pattern— orient on community developing demand—which based on the community and human, and the implementing way, approach and the countermeasure.
