The thesis has the modern eucational theory and the spirit of the reform of curriculum in China as its guidence. It aims at improving the teachers'quality and the level of information literacy. The writer expatiates the significance of teachers' information literacy and explains the requirement of it. The writer also probes some problems on how to cultivate and evaluate it. To conduct the exploratory investigation, the writer designed a questionnaire and made a survey among the middle school teachers in Shiyan area. The results of the analysis of the survey offer evidence to the writer's research.This consists of four parts. The first part is the analysis of information literacy requirement for the teachers. It also includes the definitions of information literacy in different periods of times. It distinguishes the information quality with the education technical quality,then carry out the demands to the teachers according to the analysis of the definition of the information literacy.The second part is a questionnaire and the analysis of the survey. The actuality of the teacher is given in this part. The survey is from the six selected schools of Shiyan.The analysis is truly based on the numbers of the survey.The third part is the research on how to cultivate teachers' attainment of information. The key measures are to build the training system and curriculum.Also the selected teachers and th training evaluations must be followed. The way to set up the system of cultivating and what modes of cultivating should be taken are explored in this part.The last one is on the evaluation system of teachers' information literacy. The aim for evaluation should focus on the teachers continual development.The purposes, principles and modes of evaluation are discussed in this part.At last a guideline of evaluation of teachers' information literacy is given.
