The 21th century is an Information Age. At present, the modern information technology marked with Internet and multimedia has developed rapidly. It has put a deep impression into the high school classroom teaching, which asks us to improve the teaching efficiency. The application of multimedia courseware is one of the effective ways to solve this problem. The thesis will begin with the actuality of the PPT courseware application in high school chemistry classroom teaching. It will analyze the existing problems and the reasons for them. Then with the proper instruction of modern teaching and learning strategies, through the scientific experiment research as well as the statistics and analysis of actual data, the best combination of PPT courseware and traditional chemistry teaching methods will be found out to solve the problems — when to use courseware and experiments , and when to guide the students to observe and practice . I believe as long as the organic combination of modern and traditional teaching methods can be properly used, it will optimize the teaching results, improve the teaching efficiency, benefit the training of the students' scientific quality and the teachers' teaching level as well. However, because of the limited time, the influence of PPT courseware applied in the term of long titudinal time is still under research and discussion.
