With the increase of competition in employment , career life planning has attracted more and more attention. Vocational interest is the important basis of career life planning. Vocational interest is little by little formative and ripe during the high school stage. Combined all these, it's significant to explore the characteristics of high school students' vocational interest for career guidance. We drew up a vocational interest questionnaire on the basis of a great number of documents and the latest vocational materials to explore current high school students' vocational interest structure under the backgrounds of Chinese culture. We colletcted the vocational and daily activities high school students like through the open questionnaire firstly. On the basis of this and other vocational interest questionnaires we formed the original vocational interest questionnaire. Then we chose 182 high school students from NO.4 middle school in YiBin and had an attempting measurement on them. We analysed the outcomes of attempting measurement, deleted some items and formed our formal occupational interest questionnaire. This questionnaire was administrated to 606 high school students in four high schools. By using principal factor analysis and derived Scree Plot, 7 sorts of interest were obtained. They are: technological, investigative, conventional, enterprising, natural, social and artistic. We compared the differences of students who had different characters on the basis of 7 sorts of occupational interest.
