Career counseling is a professional activity around the individual career development process.With the professional knowledge and advice providing to the job seekers.Counseling reference to personal and professional background(including educational background,career interests,career aspirations,career goals,career experience and life values,etc.)for job seekers to provide a reasonable solution to such the problems.Career counseling and career guidance have some similarities with other types of counseling.Professional career counseling help job seekers face difficulties or problems by using professional knowledge.Career counseling in the United States began to emerge in the late 19 th century and early 20 th century.With the rapid development of the American economy and society,the relevant theories and steps of the career counseling were relatively mature.In the late 20 th century,based on the American National Occupational Classification System,the United States organized a design-The Occupational Information Network(O*NET).It is a panorama description of the social profession.This system describes a wide variety of career information,but also for career counseling to provide an effective information reference.O*NET database has a detailed occupational classification,transparent career information,scientific career analysis,an unified description of the structure and convenient search for each job.Every job carried out a certain job description of the information,especially the education and training for each occupation are described in detail.The Occupational Information Network Database is of great significance to the efficient and reasonable implementation of career counseling.With the deepening of economic globalization,China's economic and social ties with the international are increasingly close,the labor market is complex,the number of job seekers is large with diverse types.The demand for career counseling is increasing,and at this stage,career counseling in China is just at beginning,the relevant theoretical system and practice experience of career counseling are not abundant.In this paper,through the study of the relevant theories of career counseling and the practice of American career counseling,some reasonable suggestions are put forward in combination with the actual situation of Chinese labor market.It is the foundation of high quality human resource management in China at present to establish a scientific information collection standard and form a perfect occupationalinformation resource system.The combination of information acquisition and measurement methods of the O*NET will give us some professional information and advises.At the same time,it draws on the O*NET work analysis method,carries on the job description from two angles of the worker's orientation and the work orientation,carries on the detailed description to the occupational information,facilitates the information seeking and appraising with the professional related parties.On the other hand,learning on the O*NET professional information database professional evaluation network tools and design ideas and construction methods,combined with China's talent market and career counseling establish a suitable national conditions of China's occupation Information platform.This system will have professional evaluation of network tools,such as APP and other terminal platform,It not only has the general applicability,rationality and systematization for most job seekers,but also has the ability to update the real-time information.
