A Tentative Study On Love Education In Chinese Teaching

Middle school is a very critical stage for students to grow up healthily both physically and psychologically and to develop their view of life and morality. Students not only need to gain some basic academic knowledge, but also need to foster correct moral values in middle school. Due to the great physical and psychological changes, the students become interested in and curious to love. However, love to them is only a mystery. They are eager to find out what love is, therefore, the works on love in the textbook (and in the extra-curriculum books) are their helpful teacher. It is of great significance to help them to develop a noble and healthy view of love and aesthetics by using the works on love. This paper illustrates the connotations, significances, contents and implements of love education in Chinese teaching.The introduction gives a brief review of the slow development of love education, and related documents.The first part illustrates the connotations of love education in Chinese teaching, including the definition of works on love.The second part, based on the present situation of lacking of love education, explores the necessity to implement love education in Chinese teaching from three aspects, that is, need of the society, need of the students' physical and psychological development and the characteristics of the Chinese teaching.The third part probes into the contents of love education in Chinese teaching, mainly including aesthetic education and moral education on love. Aesthetic education includes how to appreciate the artistic language, beautiful human nature, how to understand the tragic beauty and to enhance the ability of aesthetics appreciation.
