Study On Population Aging And The Pattern Of Community Service For The Aged In The City

Since 1970's, population aging has been gradually becoming a widespread trend in the world. Compared with developed countries, population aging in China shows the characteristics of huge size of the elderly ,the rapid aging speed and getting old before being rich .Our country will face the rigorous challenge of population aging in the first half of the 21st century. Population aging in the city is more serious than in rural areas. Under this background, problems of the elderly's care, medical treatment and comfort have becoming more and more serious in the city. More and more scholars dispute options of the pattern of aged support .The paper analyzes the defects of current aged service pattern firstly and points out family support and organization support both facing rigorous challenge. The author also discusses feasibility and superiority of community support and poses that community support will become a new option of the elderly's service guarantees in the city. Because community support is in the primary stage, it has some defects. Finally, this paper proposes that community support realize industrialization, specialization and large-scale.
