College students' vocational guidance is a general term for a series of educational processes and activities. The former is launched by colleges to cultivate college students' political and ideological quality, vocational ethics, vocational awareness, vocational ability and vocational psychology etc.. The latter concerns about guiding college students to prepare for, choose and settle down on the vocations according to the need of the country, the requirement of the vocations and the characteristics of their own.At present, how to solve college students' employment appropriately is not only the task of a college or a department, but a comprehensive systematic project concerning a student, a family, a college, a society and even a country. Although, to choose one's work independently is encouraged, colleges, in reality, assume great responsibility in college students' employment. In the light of this, to launch vocational guidance in colleges gradually becomes an effective key measure to the solution of employment and it also becomes the focus of students work in colleges. In vocational guidance, what matters most is the political and ideological education, which plays a fundamental role in not only helping students cultivate suitable sense of employment and thereafter to have an all-round development, but also producing a sustained development to students, colleges, and the society. This thesis starts from the basic theories and concepts of vocational guidance, discloses the necessity and feasibility of political and ideological education in college students' vocational guidance, analyzes thoroughly the problems and reasons in the course of college students' vocational development. The purpose is to explore the ways to strengthening the political and ideological education in college students' vocational guidance.The first part of this paper devotes itself to a brief survey of the development, the basic theories and concepts of college students' vocational guidance. The theoretical basis of college students' vocational guidance is the all-round development theory andthe theory of the relations between an individual and the society, which is the theme of this dissertation.The second part concerns about the necessity and feasibility of political and ideological education in college students' vocational guidance. The close relations between political and ideological education and vocational guidance are the starting point of this paper.The problems and the analysis of their causes in the process of vocational development constitute the third part of this paper. Those problems include failures in choosing suitable vocations, satisfying the quality requirements of the professions and the lack, of proper vocational qualities etc.. The causes are analyzed from the perspective of the students themselves and also the family, the college and the society. The emphasis of this part is placed on the analysis of the lack of a sustained political and ideological education in college students' vocational guidance, and also the imperfection of the political and ideological education system.The fourth and the fifth part explore the measures to the solution of vocational development. Vocational guidance can be classified into several stages and political and ideological education should be implemented into each stage accordingly. These two parts also illuminate the ways to the construction of a political and ideological education system, a teaching system and a service system. These are the most difficult part and also the conclusive point of this thesis.
