The importance of motivation in teaching practice is evident because the discussion of motivation began very early since ancient time home and abroad. From the works of Confucius and Mencius in ancient Chinese Qing dynasty. To the systematic introduction and exposition in the modern west, motivation, a key factor in teaching achievement gradually recognized prominent role. Beginning with ancient Chinese thoughts of Qing dynasty and western humanistic psychology, will make an initial attempt to discuss the formation and the function system of motivation. And Confucius and Mencius are the representatives of such people who used to put forward the viewpoint of "devotion to learning" , "devotion to action" . Although they did not make a clear distribution and detailed explanation of motivation, they discussed the essence of it according to the teaching process. However, the west has a more systematic and integral explanation on motivation. It is represented by ,which are more intensive and practical. It demands which controls the behaviors of human, and the demand can be divided into different kinds and seven levels, which are the motivations of different behaviors in a certain degree and proceed step by step. The highest level "self-realization" is a confirmation to the humanity and individual worth. In other words, it achieves the best effect on study. Winna classified the motivation which can be divided into three dimensions and eight aspects and elaborates the possibilities and modes., Different ideas with regard to motivation in east and west have greated provided Chinese education with some guidance and modes。 Thus, this thesis attempts to classified into three aspects as followed: 1 Elaboration with regard to the ideas put forward by ancient educators and define contemporary motivation and related contentSo 2 Elaboration with regard to Maslow' self-realization and its pragmatics, together with Winna' s theory which is to be utilized in teaching practice.. 3 According to the analysis above, a new operation mode can be originated in terms of the characteristics of Chinese education。 That is , what kind of teaching mode can be used to stimulate , motivate, maintain and consolidate the motivation in the process of learningo A pilot system as regards motivation can be created and elaborations from different perspectives in terms of its essence, effect and pragmatics are available。...
