The reading comprehension of hearing impaired children has become one of the hot issues as psychologists, rehabilitative professionals, teachers for the hearing impaired and parents all showed great interest in understanding this important aspect. Adopting test method and the Chinese Reading Comprehension Process Test of Hearing Impaired Secondary Students (developed by researcher) tested 162 hearing impaired secondary students and obtained related data. The study results show that interactive reading comprehension process is not the main one for hearing impaired secondary students, bottom-up, top-down and interactive process all affect the reading comprehension process of hearing impaired secondary students. There are significant differences in top-down and interactive reading comprehension processes among 7,8,9grade students. Significant gender differences are found on three reading comprehension processes, female students outperform than male students. There are also significant differences in types of reading material among three reading comprehension processes. Grade, gender and type of reading material are important effectors for Chinese reading comprehension process of Secondary Students with hearing impairment. In addition, it is argued that based on three reading comprehension process, different types of reading material have different reading effects.
