Proceeding from the characteristic of Chinese subject and characteristic of the multimedia technology of the computer, the article discusses the current situation of the multimedia application in Chinese teaching, analyses the role of the multimedia in Chinese teaching, points out its deficiency and existing question, and puts forward the concrete solutions. Namely we shall optimize the principles and the methods of Chinese multimedia teaching, construct the teaching mode of realizing sound development of Chinese multimedia teaching under the environment of the information and network. Finally I portray the development trend of Chinese multimedia teaching. In this article, I strive to make combine theory with practice and explore the tactics of optimizing Chinese multimedia teaching with the guiding of study theory, teaching propagating theory and designing theory, etc. The article is important to popularize the experiment of optimizing multimedia teaching of Chinese, to promote the whole development of Chinese educational reform, to guide Chinese multimedia teaching in middle and primary schools, to optimize teaching structure and teaching process, improve teaching efficiency and teaching result in a more effective way, to really make multimedia teaching merge to Chinese teaching and to become its organic component, to realize the sustainable development of Chinese multimedia teaching.
