The reform in Chinese education in middle school is just unfolding. So the professional accomplishment of the teachers of Chinese in middle school is gradually becoming the key to the success in the reform in Chinese curriculum. In this people-centered era, the development of teachers' specialties is not only the internal requirement of the teachers but also the real need of the curriculum reform.To search the effective way to the development of Chinese teachers' specialties, i have made studies based on the teachers at home and abroad, especially the teachers of Chinese in K city,Jiangsu province. I selected several prestigious teachers of Chinese and made researches on their specialty development, using questionnaire, investigation and documentary study.The development of Chinese teachers' specialties has greet significance in the reform in curriculum, self-development of the teachers of Chinese, the improvement in teachers' status and the sustained development of the school as well. But the development of specialties also has its limitations, .for example, the restriction of self-cognition and the limitation of many objective conditions so the teachers' specialties and the teachers should actively change the old concepts and seize the opportunities. Involved in school's culture, experimenting and accumulating, teachers can ultimately accomplish their development.
