During the process of social transformation, Xiagang Zhigong (the laid-off workers), the unemployed workers with Chinese characteristics and as a new-born vulnerable group, has become more and more important and has been the focus of the people. The research about Xiagang Zhigong has been popular too. The purpose of this study was to describe the basic features of two major variables and to explore the relationship between them. The first variable is the social support network accepted by Xiaogang Zhigong. The second one is the job seeking behaviors of them. A questionnaire survey was used to gather data. Social support theory, systems theory and social sxclusion theory will be useful in explaining the relationship and the functional system between the two variables. According to my research, my conclusions are: Firstly, in our country, Xiagang Zhigong become laid-off member, its reason is supported less and supporting inferior in quality and relevantly instead of the societies had, and this kind of the fewer resource which the worker have, the apter to become persons who are laid off. Secondly, in the personal position wanted behavior, the more the laid-off worker's informal social support, the more position wanted behaviors are. Thirdly, concerning their job seeking behaviors, formal channels were rarely used and informal contacts were more frequently used to find jobs; According to behavior result of the job seeking, the laid-off worker's informal society supports higher than the success rate which the formal society supports and applies for a position. Fourthly, Xiagang Zhigong seldom use formal social support network fully to find job. Fifthly, Laid-off worker is it support higher than the formal society to informal social support for satisfaction that position wanted offer help them to support. Analyze the reason among them, traditional value, individual ability and face consciousness might have something to do with the features of the two variables. Finally, the research will propose some suggestions on the laid-off worker in terms of their job-seeking behaviors.
