On The Present States, Problems And Improvement Of The Pupils' Expression

Expression, as an educational term with multi-meaning, is the objective display of an individual person's comprehensive quality, integrating the emotion, thinking, knowledge and ability, and so on. Expression, as the educational objective, is the display of pupils' quality, which brings about the unity of the completion with the personality in individual person's cultivating. Expression, spreading out of educational process, protrudes the nature of instruction. Expression, as the educational result, help the individual person understand himself, other persons, the world, the transmitting and spreading of culture. The sorts of the expression have contains language (the written and the verbal), behavior and emotion expression.This paper probe the present states and the problems of the pupils' expression by observing and interviewing in the classroom. It holds that problems are obvious, although the pupils' expression is wonderful sometimes. For example, the aim of expression is catabolized; no freedom; no democracy; no facticity; deviate the life world; and too much rules restrict pupils' expression.This paper advocates some strategies to improve the pupils' expression as follows. Firstly, we should recognize the value of expression, explore its significance to pupils' development, pursue the relation beween expression and curriculum and consider its function on the new relationship between teachers and pupils. Secondly, we should reform the educational systems to remove all the primary restrictions. Thirdly, we should endow the pupils with the right to express freely, give pupils virtual freedom and make the expression to be pupils' living state. Fourthly, we should understand pupils' multi-culture, protect the pupils' democratic expression by multiplex teaching. Lastly, education should be close to the pupils' life world, and encourage them express their life in their life.
