Along with development of reform, there is a large of rural surplus labor force transfer. A new disadvantaged population appear in the country. They are the Hometown-Remaining Wives. Their living conditions are so difficult that they are in need of helps and supports from the society. For the sake of understanding current social support for the Hometown-Remaining wives and its effective supporting system, we carried on this study.The participants in this study were 194 rural Hometown-remaining wives in Jun Shan of Yue Yang. Multi-stage combines with simple random sample was used to choose samples while questioner survey, cases interview and document study were adopted in our material collection. We used SPSS11.0 to process the date and set up a corresponding statistical database of the investigative results.The survey indicates: there is remarkable inverse correlation between Hometown-Remaining Wives' social support and their age, there is remarkable obverse correlation between Hometown-Remaining Wives' social support and their knowledge degree, there is remarkable obverse correlation between Hometown-Remaining Wives' social support and their income, there is remarkable obverse correlation between Hometown-Remaining Wives' social support and personality and so on.Therefore, we should set up the formal social support networks, improve and perfect informal social support networks, Non-governmental organization bring into play its action and function, strengthen The Hometown-Remaining Wives' ability of social support networks use and so on, establish the perfect social support networks for Hometown-Remaining Wives as soon as possible, improve the Hometown-Remaining Wives' current situation.
