A Study In The Formal Social Support Of Young Female Peasantry Workers

Female peasantry workers endure double discrimination from gender and estate when they work and live in the city. They are fringe groups. They are more isolated than other weak groups. Therefore, they need more formal social support.This study collects materials through questionnaire survey and in-dept interview. Based on the relevant theories of social support, it aims to describe the status and characteristic of the formal social support of young female peasantry workers, discuss the actual demand and advance some feasible and exercisable suggestions.The researching result shows: 1.The primary social support is informal social support. The formal social support is infrequent;there are inner differences in the status of social support of young female peasantry workers;the young female peasantry workers have cognitive obstacles in formal social support;the request for formal social support of young female peasantry workers is urgent.As the opinion of the thesis, extending the formal social support of the young female peasantry workers is an imperative assignment. We must extend the formal social support in a multiple way, including ways of the association, the community, the NGO and the government.
