The teaching practice of physical education is an important phase of all the process of the physical education; and is the key to link of cultivating the person of talent for P.E; it also is the necessary phase and the basic formality of the former education of a teacher. The teaching practice possesses special function for the physical education students of universities, such as understanding physical education of secondary and elementary schools; strengthening specialization ideology and cultivating the actual abilities of work.The function of teaching practice makes the graduated students check and reappear some previously conclusion and take shape their own teaching styles after the students take engaged in practicing of their majors for some time. The value and position of teaching practice are so great, we can understand the fact from it. But, people are not satisfied with the actualities of physical education teaching practice. There are some disadvantages in the process of physical education teaching practice. This thesis finds out the significances and the main problems in the teaching practice of the physical education, and the countmeasures and proposals are put forwards. The paper provides references for the future teaching practice of physical education.The investigation is made on the object of some physical education departments of Hubei province and of some physical education students of these departments for practical training. (China Central Normal University,Hubei University,Wuhan Institute of Physical Education,Jianghan University,Hubei Normal University,Yangtze University,Huanggang Normal University,Xiangfan University,Xianning College,Yunyang Teachers' College) The datum from investigation are analyzed by means of literature, questionnaire survey and relatively statistical method. According to the analysis, some existing problems and relevant strategies are put forward.The following problems exists in teaching practice on physical education of Hubei province:(1) It is difficult for us to establish contact schools for the practical training students, for there are some available models of teaching practice of physical education, so we are in passive situation on arranging and carrying out the teaching practice.(2) Some practical training students of physical education do not recognize the important of the teaching practice and do not do their best to prepare it. Thus they deal with it without concern and let time pass away when they come to the practical schools. It is disadvantageous for practical training students for learning and training.(3) The practical training students can not get so much progress and put it into practice because of the short time of the teaching practice. (4) The actual necessary of teaching practice departs from what's learning in their universities, so the students can't take full use what their studies for teaching and can't achieve their own value. (5) It influences the effects and achievements of the practical training because the teachers of universities can't guide the practical training students carefully. (6) There is less objective standard evaluation system for quality and quantity. It is very casual to evaluate the results for the practical training, so it reduces the positive and the objective of the practical training students.Some strategies on these problems are put forward: (1) Via establishing practical base of physical education, we can settle the passive situation of contact schools for practicing. (2) Via strengthening the thinking and the cultivation of professional abilities, thus they can do what they will be in their process of practical training. (3) It will give the students more chance for training and learning if we increase the period in an appropriate amount. (4) In accordance with the facts of modern teaching innovate of P. E, we should adjust the plans of courses and the time for text, so the students can take use of what they studies in the universities. (5) We should set up excellent troops in ranks and files of guiding teachers, so we can do our best to give service to the practical training students. (6) We should build a set of objective and unified evaluation system for practical training, thus the students will take active in it and they are on the initiative for the teaching practice.
