Inquiry Learning is the approach of scientific inquiry and the study process that studentsacquire knowledge, improve skills, develop attitude , form sense of value and improve inquiryability through the activities of finding puzzles, bringing forward a hypothesis, inquiring andstudying, using and operating and communicating and expressing. In order to improve the students'scientific attainments, a teacher must adopt certain strategy of teaching, promote the inquirylearning of the students, making them acquire biology knowledge initiatively, experience scientificresearch process and technique, sequentially form some scientific academic ability, attitude andsense of value, cultivate the innovational spirit and practice skills.The thesis consists of six parts. The first part discusses the necessity of our research in termsof the student development and the education reform.The second part discusses the evolvement history of inquiry teaching. then by anatomizing itsbasic connotation and core factors , reaches a conclusion that inquiry learning doesn't force thestudents to explore and research in every detail and thereby removes the students' mystery to it;andthe research analyzes the relation between scientific inquiry and teaching inquiry;teaching inquiryhas five subject characters. The third part intends to seek the theoretic supports to the inquiry learning and, anatomizes theteaching process of the inquiry learning and the constructive teaching functions as well. The forth part introduces the inquiry teaching strategy. Firstly, it induces and analyzes the relationbetween teacher and student in the teaching process;secondly, factors that restricts the inquiryteaching in the classs;And then it illustrates the principles and the area to choose the contents andteaching strategy for inquiry teaching and form two ways of inquiry teaching for senior chemistryteaching, based on it: problem-settled learning and inquiry experiment design. The fifth part is teaching practice and its aim is to test its effect.It turns out that the inquiryteaching has distinct effect on students' problem consciousness, self-determination consciousnessand ability, foster scientific method and attitude, association of ideas respectively. At last, we prosecute prospect for future research and analyze the problems existing in the thesis.
