With the rapid development of modern communication and transportation, the whole world has become a "small village"— global village. Interpersonal and intercultural communication will greatly increase. And intercultural communicative competence becomes a required ability for citizens in the 21th century to survive and live meaningfully and productively. So only knowing the grammar rules and linguistic forms of the target language cannot solve all the communicative problems. To communicative effectively with people from different culture, more and more people are aware of the importance of the teaching of culture in foreign language teaching. And now for the first time, cultural awareness, cultural understanding and intercultural communicative competence has been prescribed in the new English Curriculum Standard. Accordingly, senior English teachers are faced with the challenge of exploring appropriate means of culture instruction in their teaching contexts. Meanwhile, Task-Based Language Teaching has also been introduced in the new English Curriculum Standard.
