Pierre Bourdieu is a great master in the world of sociology. He is considered as one of the three leading exponents in current world of sociology in Europe, together with Anthony Giddens and Juergen Habermas. Bourdieu acted as the member of the Institute of France, he was the most outstanding sociologist among the person of the same period. He was regarded as the leading figure of intellectuals in France in the present age. Bourdieu broke the bounds of knowledge in the encyclopedical-style works of himself. He dabbled at from Anthropology, Sociology, and Pedagogies to Historiography, Linguistics, Politics, Philosophy, Aesthetics and the research of Literature. Bourdieu challenged to the classification of knowledge in many ways. He put forward many professional inquiries in different fields he dabbled at: From the research of farmer, art, unemployment, education, law, science and literature to the analysis of kindred, class, religion, politics, physical education, language and housing, intellectual, state. Bourdieu possessed the ability of amalgamating various styles of sociology, whether the theory of race or the pattern of statistics or the nonfigurative metatheory or the philosophical discussion. This thesis manages to base on the basic theory of sociology, apply the Marxist points, perspectives, and methodology to reinterpret his theories of sociology. The thesis consists of six chapters. The first chapter summarizes the profile of Bourdieuian sociology. It firstly introduces the process of his study in sociology, then summarizes the structure of his theories of sociology, and the base of the theory—the theory of practice and the theory of reconsidered. Finally, it compares his social theory of sociology with the mainstream theory, and points out the limitations of his theory. The second chapter mainly expounds three core-concepts in the theory of Bourdieu: field, capital and habitus. The promotion of field, capital and habitus, the three core concepts in the Social Theory of Practice of French Socialist Bourdieu, brought a new prospective to the research of Sociology. Bourdieu tried to probe into the practice of social life by the concepts of field and capital along with every kind ofcapitals to surpass the dual opposition prospective in the social science. This chapter discusses the meanings of the three concepts and the relation among them. The third chapter mainly comments on the class theory of Bourdieu. At the first place, it analyses his theory critically inherits the theory of Marx and Weber. At the second place, it expounds the theory of class from two sides. That is the frame of social space and social track. Finally, it enumerates some inquires of several scholars. The fourth chapter summarizes the Bourdieu's culture reproduction theory. This theory transfers the way of sociological and anthropological research. He abandons traditional unilateral-time conception, cause and effect logic means and dual pattern of consideration. Firstly, it analyses the symbolistic frame of culture reproduction. Then, it goes deep into discussing the five topics separately. The fifth chapter discusses Bourdieu's cultural sociology analysis of intellectual and knowledge politics. To Bourdieu, the sociological research of intellectual is not a special research, but the indispensable content in sociological means. Bourdieu's analysis of intellectual is the cultural sociological analysis, with a view to the role of "symbolic producer".The sixth chapter discusses the influence of Bourdieu's social theory. It focuses on the progressive effect and revelation. At the same time, it points out the limitations.
