Since the 1970s teacher training and the testing and evaluating movement of competency in schools basis on competency in the North of America took place, the competency modeling practice has got great successes in the business field. However, the study of competency is underway in China, concentrating on enterprises and companies. The research on competency in the Chemistry education field has been seldom discovered.The purpose of this dissertation is to explore the competency model of Chemistry teachers in the senior high schools, to compile the assessment tools of the Chemistry teacher competency and assess the level of the Chemistry teacher competency. Some methods, such as document analysis, questionnaire and personal interview, are used. A series of demonstration study on competency model and assessment system from the angle of competency, on the basis of connection of qualitative examination and quantitative examination, is completed.SS were 245 Chemistry teachers from 67 senior high schools from Hunan province, Guangdong province and so on. SS were 32 Chemistry teachers from 10 senior high schools in the opening questionnaire;SS were 213 Chemistry teachers from 57 senior high schools in the questionnaire of competency on Chemistry teachers in senior high schools. Adopted materials were 《the opening questionnaire of competency on Chemistry teachers in senior high schools》 and 《the questionnaire of competency on Chemistryteachers in senior high schools)) . 30 thousand dada were collected, which adopted SPSS10.0 and AHP to analyse. The results are:First, The competency model of Chemistry teachers in senior high schools and quantitative assessment system,which contains 10 factors( interpersonal discernment, educational art, cooperation and self-adjustment and self-control, organizing and harmony, educational ideas, self-monitoring and control, macroscopic adjustment and control, interpersonal expertise and flexibility, adaptability, respecting students) and 43 guidelines of assessment, are constructed elementarily by the wide questionnaire;Second, by ((the assessment questionnaire of competency on Chemistry teachers in senior high schools)) and quantitative assessment system, the competency level of Chemistry teachers in senior high schools could be confirmed elementarily.
