With the the improvement of social requirements for teachers' quality and specialization,compare with the the traditional evaluation model of teachers,the competenciy of teacher has be more and more emphasized,and the study of competency model of teachers requires detailer and deeper.The purpose of this dissertation is based on the requirements for renewal of evaluation model of teachers' quality at the background of new curriculum,foundation of literature analysis and opening questionnaire,taking the methods of behavior event interview,by the interview of the middle school teachers form the east,west and middle area of our country,including six provinces and twelve citys,to construct the competency model of teachers.And by using the test of teacher competency, the paper also tests and assesses the level and traits of on the job middle teachers' competencies.By the competency models constructed on the behavior event interview.Based on the traits of middle school teacher competency,by Coding and Statistics the result of the interview,the constructed competency models of teachers include the traits of excellent teachers and the traits of all the teachers.The excellent teachers own some specific traits as differentiating competencies,such as Cultural Literacy,Expertise,Devotion,Achievement Orientation,Challenge spirit,Action,Self-discipline,Initiative,Developing Others, Toughness,Empathy,Result Orientation,Introspection,Impact and Influence,Front Tracking,Planning,Conceptual Thinking,Relation Building,Managing Student.The threshold competencies of all the teachers,however,include Integrity,Equity, Self-confidence,Responsibility,Openness,Flexibility,Respect Others,Student Orientation, Analytical Thinking,Resilience,Invention,Motivation,Information Collection,Resilience, Learning,Trust Building,Communication,Emotion-controlled,Language Performance. Authorization and Directing is a group of subject teachers' alternative competencies. This study developed the test of middle school teacher competency which contains 70 items and 7 sub-scales.These sub-scales is divided into Personal traits (TRI),understanding others(UO),Motivation-oriented(MT),Influence others(IO), Information Processing(IP),Learning and development(LRN),Lie(LIE).It tests and assesses the level and traits of teacher competencies that shows many valuable result.According to the conclusions,several suggestions are proposed for prospective teacher selections,placement,performance appraisal,those who intend to be teachers in the secondary schools,teacher competency standards and qualification,teacher education, teacher professional development,and the future research.
