The ideological and political education is the key point related to the overall quality education in college. During the past two decades, the authority has implemented the plans about Ideological and Political Theories Course successively such as "1978 Plan" , "1985 Plan" , "1993 Plan" and "1998 Plan" . The new settled plan on Ideological and Political Theories Course, which was issued in 2005, is a series of strict obligatory reform with distinctive times' character. At present, the institutions of higher education have held Ideological and Political Theories Course widely. Obviously it is the major channel to systematically educate the college students in ideology.However, there are many problems in the Ideological and Political Theories Course teaching now. In many people' s eyes, it has become a vapid and tiring curriculum. The lacking of practical teaching is the key reason for this as experts realize. Because the new settled plan only makes the first step, study on practical teaching of Ideological and Political Theories Course shows feebleness and needs us to do many work on it.Practical teaching, which differs from social practice, is a primary tache of teaching of Ideological and Political Theories Course. The paper attaches importance to it through introducing its meaning and status, and seek systemic andacademic answers to the question through analysing causes of the lacking of it. This text is divided into three chapters mainly. The first chapter introduces necessity and function of Ideological and Political Theories Course. According to mental and ideological states of students, we bring forward objective demands on the practical teaching. In the second chapter, the thesis analyses its mechanism of ensurence in colleges, and summarizes necessary condition of how to implement practical teaching. In the third chapter, combining with our teaching experience, we make a research and conclusion on the process, content and architecture of practical teaching. Meanwhile, the paper initiatively presents strategies of design, realization and check of practical teaching of Ideological and Political Theories Course in colleges.On the one hand, this paper shows practical significance of improving effect on teaching of Ideological and Political Theories Course. On the other hand, in theory, our study enriches academic research on Ideological and Political Theories Course, and contributes to research on the ideological-political field to some extent.
