Nowadays, science and technologies are advancing instantly. The competition among the countries in fields like economy, military, and technology are based on the competition among people with abilities. The key to winning the latter is to cultivate quality in these people. Although many people has realized the importance of emotion education in quality education, music education still heavily relies on accumulation of musical knowledge and skill drilling, and the essence of music - emotion has not gained the attention of most music teachers. In recent years, more and more people call for emotion cultivation in music education, but the research in this field is still insufficient. The practice of many music teachers is still based on their experience. Moreover, the related theories are not systematic. This article discusses the study of emotion education in music education and integrates the related theories into a systematic one, so as to provide some useful references for music education in ordinary schools.This article mainly follows the differentiation method, and also uses other methods like comparison and summarization.This article is composed of foreword, text, and conclusion. The text part consists of the following four parts:Part â… , This part introduces the essence and value of emotion education. It first gives theoretical analysis of necessity and importance of emotion education in music education, and then lists the theoretical basis for implementing emotion education in music education.Part â…¡, This part promotes the target system of emotion education in music education, by combing the targets of music education and emotion education. This system is made up of the total targets, phase targets, and hierarchical targets.Part â…¢, Based on the target system, five principles for emotion education in music education are promoted. These principles are:(1) Make intelligence cultivation to cooperate with emotion cultivation.(2) Combine art empathy with skills.(3) Adapt the targets of emotion education to the measures of emotion education.(4) Combine feeling and appreciation with performance and creation.(5) Unite guidance and cultivation with individual feeling.Part IV, According to the theoretical research stated in previous three parts, this part summarizes some practical methods that can be used for emotion education in music education. Such methods include cultivating emotion in a suitable environment, activating emotion by using interesting cases, cultivating emotion through beauty, promoting emotion by knowledge, arousing one kind of emotion through another, and fostering emotion by behaviors. Furthermore, based on theoretical and practical analysis, a feasible model of emotion education is set up, as well as its sub-models like emotion deepening model, emotion radiation model, andmulti-dimensional model.
