The key to developing a nation is education, while the key to developing education is onthe shoulders of all the educators.Excellent physics teachers are the outstanding representatives of all the physics teachers,and their development is drawing more and more attention nowadays, What are the factorsthat lead them from a common teacher to an outstanding educator? How do these factorsaffect them? How many phases have they experienced? Are there any regular patterns tofollow? As a common teacher, what can we learn from them? This paper will focus on allthose questions.This paper does research on the development of outstanding physics teachers in anarrative way.This paper tries to analyze the accomplishments of the outstanding physics teachers fromsix sides, i.e. great moral character, modern teaching concept, experimental ability, strong willin practice, the idea of self-improvement and development, and the consciousness ofcreativity.The development of an excellent physics teacher consists of the following phases:accumulating phase, maturation phase, persistence phase and creativity phase, which areinterconnected and different from each other in developing level. We put forward thestrategies by which to promote the development of excellent teachers, the strategy that it iskey to take part in activities based on teaching and research group;the strategy that it isimportant to think over the teaching practice and do scientific research;and the strategy thatreading is necessary and must way for the development of an excellent teacher.The developing process of the excellent physics teachers inspires the common teachersthat they should take teaching career as a beautiful one, pay attention to moral character,pursue the enchantment of personality and keep on self-development.
