The new round of curriculum reform advocates the students'self-independency, cooperation and exploration spirit in study, which is close related to the teachers'teaching activity in class. In the chemistry class, teachers'teaching activity refers to the skill that the teachers purposefully choose under their self-supervision. It is a manifestation of teachers'capability. Through the teachers'teaching activity, the students try to meet the teachers'requirement, comprehend knowledge, and make progress. A teacher's teaching effect is directly dependent on the rationality of his/her teaching activity, which is in turn affected to a great extent by such demology variables as his/her sex, career years, and educational level. Based on the former studies in this field, and guided by the concept of the new course, this research takes the form of questionnaire and interviews to analyze the meanings and characteristics of chemistry teachers'teaching activity. The informants are teachers in five high schools in the city of Changchun and its suburbs. We find out that the chemistry teaching activity of high school teachers in Changchun does have something to do with part of their demology variables. In addition to this research, the researcher also did some extensional studies and got some conclusions. With this research paper, the researcher hopes to provide certain theory and some first-hand data for those teachers who want to perform more appropriate teaching activity according to their own characteristics.
