With the deepening of teaching reform and development, activities teaching is beingrecognized and favored by most teachers day by day. However, this technology is not matureenough, which often makes the result of activities teaching in the actual teaching not verysatisfying. Therefore rapid promotion and widely practice were not able to be achieved. Socreating an efficient and active geography class is extremely important.On the one hand,active teaching was born to meet the needs of education reform; On the other hand, teachersdo not know how to make geography class activities achieve high performance in the actualteaching. Therefore how to apply the concept of geography activities teaching in the teachingpractice of geography in middle schools and how to build a high performance geographyactivity class is the focus of this essayThis essay is base on activities teaching theory and research results and the teachingpractice both at home and abroad, referring to motivation theory, and activities teachingtheory, and construction doctrine theory, and humanism learning views, theory researchresults, guided by new courses concept, through actual investigation, and class observation,and combining their own actual experience on constructing efficient geography activities class.The author of this essay pointed out the main problems existed in modern geography teachingin middle schools and offers corresponding solutions. This essay analyzed the teachingdesigning and teaching strategies of two types of activities, that’s Research activities andCommunication activities, and how to carry them out. The author hopes to promotegeography activities teaching in the classroom deeply and continuously by building highlyefficient geography activities classes.This article is composed of10parts: the first part is to introduce the problem and thesignificance of the topic. The second part analyzes the background and significance of thestudy. The third section discusses the theoretical basis of the domestic and foreign researchstatus, mainly referring to motivation theory, activity theory, constructivist teaching theoryand concept of humanistic learning. Part IV is to define the core concepts and key concepts.The core concepts "active" and "efficient" are analyzed and explained. I think the key tobuilding a high performance geography activities class is to seize the deep connotation of theconcept of "activities" and "efficient". The other important concepts such as “teachingactivity”,“geography activities teaching”,“high performance geography activities class” arealso analyzed and explained. Part V describes the methods of research, mainly byinvestigating and interviewing, cases studying, works studying, doing educationalexperiments, and summing up experience. The sixth part states the process of how to carry onthe research, giving the purpose of the studies and researches, and analyzing several mainproblems existed in the geography activities teaching. In the seventh part, the authordiscussed the strategy of constructing efficient geography activities class. The author analyzesthe problem from two angles: from both teachers and students, because teachers and studentsare the key factors of constructing efficient geography activities class. Therefore, we shouldfirst solve the problems related to teachers and students. There are three main strategies forteachers: Firstly, we teachers need to update our concept; Secondly, the design skills of the teacher’s teaching activities must be enhanced; Thirdly, teachers must further their study toqualify themselves to improve geography classroom management. There are two mainstrategies for students: one is that students must have a positive attitude to participate inactivities in the class of geography; the other is that the students must be trained to get theskills of efficient learning in activities class. Part VIII deals with the construction of efficientstrategy of geography classroom teaching design and implementation of activities, focuses onexploratory activity and engagement activities designed to implement the strategy. In part IX,cases on high performance geography class are offered and analyzed. The tenth part is aconclusion. Several issues on how to construct efficient geography activities classes worthy offurther study are pointed out. The author expects a bright prospect. In summary this articlestarts with how to build a high performance geography activities classroom, studying thepresent situation of teaching and pointing out existed main problems, and exploringappropriate measures to solve the problem. At the same time, the author offers her ownsuggestions.
