Over the past decades , researchers have produced considerable evidence that trust can offer numerable benefits for individuals and organizations .Yet , in many cases , trust may be violated , resulting in reduced trust and a need to repair trust , it is crucial to the future relations between trustors and trustees .On the basis of sum-up and pack-up of the domestic and foreign studies , our research examines the effects of apology versus denial for repairing college students'interpersonal trust . Using the methods of Investigation, Interview, Questionnaire Survey, Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmative Factor Analysis and so on . Results reveal that :Firstly , after a competence-based versus integrity-based trust violation , apology versus denial have different effects on college students'interpersonal trust repair .Secondly, after a competence-based versus integrity-based trust violation , the effects of an apology with an internal versus external attribution , and a complete denial versus a denial with reasons are different for repairing college students'interpersonal trust .Thirdly, trust will be repaired more successfully when mistrusted parties apologize with an internal and external attribution for competence-based violations , but apologize with an internal attribution for integrity-based trust violations . Fourthly, multiple differences in gender , major , work experience and grade have been found on different dimension's score and the total score .There are several new ideas brought forth by this paper .Finally, this study's limitation and future directions are discussed .
