Our society is in transition from traditional society to modern society, many social contradictions and social problems concentrate on emerging because of this. The doctor-patient relationship is one of them. The conflict between doctors and patients has become an important social problem that affects the social movement. Based on the trust theory from the perspective of sociology, the writer conducted this study about doctor-patient trust with a county hospital as sample. The findings were got based on the field observation of sample hospitals. The writer designed a interview outline to do some semi-structured interviews. The data comprehensively reflects the trust between doctors and patients of the local hospital. And the research findings are as follows:First of all, the hospital is a agency builded on common sense in theory, and the trust between doctors and patients suited for it should be existed in the form of institutional trust. However, in the sample county hospital, the trust existed much more in the form of interpersonal trust which based on special sense, especially through acquaintances set up the trust. This is a paradoxically existence;Secondly, the trust level between doctor and patient is not very high from either the doctor’s or the patient’s perspective. This is the present situation of doctor-patient trust of the sample hospital. The direct cause of this situation can be attributed to the low institutional trust level of the sample county hospital, and there are many other reasons for this low level, including the stage of social development, the hospital management and so on;Finally, according to the actual situation of the sample hospital and the reasons founded, combined with the theory of sociology, the writer put forward some suggestions for each subject, and tried a long-term recommendations about social capital in theory. In summary, the doctor-patient relationship of sample hospitals is tense. The trust level between them is low. The phenomenon is interpersonal trust and institutional trust are "in the field". How to make institutional trust gradually "homing" should be the main task of the future.
