The importance of parental involvement is evident. Foreign scholars' studies on parental involvement were earlier and they had a lot of successful experience. Since last decade, scholars in our country began to focus on this subject, from then on, studies on this aspect in our country increasingly increase.From the educational sociological angle, this paper analyzes deeply the effect of family socioeconomic status (SES) on parental involvement from both literature and demonstration.Through literature study, this paper analyzes the effect of SES on parental involvement from the aspect below. Firstly, it hackles and analyzes the summary of SES on parental involvement. Secondly, it analyzes the effect of family culture and family cultural capital on parental involvement. Lastly, it expounds the evolvement about the mechanism of SES affecting parental involvement. On basis of literature study, this paper draws this conclusion: About the degree of SES affecting parental involvement, on the whole, the effect of the former on the latter is distinct, the connection of them is positive correlation. On the evolvement about the mechanism of SES affecting parental involvement, it is from focusing on the effect of SES to analyzing the process of SES and variables intermediaries affecting parental involvement.Through empirical study , this paper made an investigation in three districts in Guangzhou: BaiYun district, (former) Xuexiu district and (former) Dongshan district. In each district, the author chose three kindergartens with different mechanism with random sample, in each kindergarten, the author chose a grade randomly, in each grade, 20 parents were selected as investigation object. Through the investigation, these conclusions could be drawn: About the effect of SES on parental involvement, the direct effect of the former on the latter is not. distinct.
