Problem solving is a kind of advanced mental process. It has been the key problem in psychology research all the time. At the stage of the primary school, the compare problems are one of the most difficult parts in the various arithmetic problems which the students meet. So the pursuer choose the research content about the problem solving of compare problems and some factors that influencing the mathematics problem solving. Considering the importance of development of rural education, the research objects come from the third graders of primary school in urban and rural areas. The pursuer want to find the differences between urban students and rural students in the quality of solving compare problems and the influence factors to the test score. So, it has certain theory meaning and realistic meaning.This research mainly includes two experiments. In experiment 1, the purpose is to find if the test score of solving the compare problems is different between the two type students. The test materials are compare problems exam and meta-cognitive questionnaire which are made up personally. In experiment 2, the pursuer wants to ascertain the subject variable, such as cognitive style, intellectual difference, working memory span, if the factors influence the test score between urban students and rural students. The corresponding test materials are Raven's standard progressive matrices (SPM), the numerical memory span part of Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children(C-WISC), matching familiar figures test(MFFT for Elementary).Based on the two experiments, we draw some conclusions as follows:...
