How to cultivate students' reading Chinese ability is an aged problem, while the new curriculum reform is a new angle of view. This thesis makes every effort to combine both organically, which not only inquires into blind areas in the old problem, but also is on the alert for the erroneous zone under the new angle of view.Chapter 1 is the foreword of the thesis. It includes the raised problem, the purpose of the research, the background of the research, the process of defining the key problem, the overview of the key problem, and major methods of the research.Chapter 2 is the theoretical foundation part of the thesis. The thesis considersthe five parts--the cognitive psychology, hermeneutic theories, the receptiveesthetics theories ,constructivism theories and the brain science-as the supportivetheories, and gives each a clear explanation.Chapter 3 compares the different principles and ideas of cultivation of students' reading ability between the new curriculum standard and the curriculum reform. Both of them regard the cultivation of reading ability as their center, but the new curriculum concentrates the cultivation of reading ability with the new development in the teaching targets of reading, with the new speculation in the direction of cultivation of reading ability and with the new mindset in the teaching strategies of reading, which are the significance of the thesis.Chapter 4 is the investigative part of laws. The thesis elaborates the five basic components of reading ability in the new curriculum, the five regulations of cultivating reading ability in the new curriculum, and explains the basic principle of cultivating reading ability in the new curriculum.Chapter 5 is the investigative part of strategies. The thesis puts forward four strategies of cultivating and promoting reading ability from the four angles, that is, "understand", "process", "emotion" and "use" in the new curriculum. The thesis elaborates the basic contents of each theory from the theories, discusses the basic cultivating paths in the light of practice, and puts forward the guidance opinion of cultivating reading ability in the new curriculum.Chapter 6 is a realistic consideration. The thesis emphasizes the four outstanding problems when teaching Chinese reading in the new curriculum, and puts forward the project to solve the problems, hoping to be used in the actual teaching Chinese reading for reference.
