Mencius' thought is broad and profound, from ancient times till now studies of Mencius' thought have not been interrupted. This paper is trying to discuss the Mcncius related study thoughts. In his view of study, Mencius putted forward a set of more complete ideologies. He not only attached importance to cultivate morality practice and grows the soul, but also had much incisive sights in study function, goal, manner, method and so on, still had the positive model significance in the present age. Mencius' study thought is a Chinese nation precious cultural heritage part, both to have the essence and to have the dregs, Mencius' thought is not only innovative but also conservative. Therefore, it is very necessary to have a historical and scientific appraisal to his thought, and causes it to fuse with the modern age.The paper is composed of three parts. The fist part analyzes the theoretical background of the research, then makes certain the conception of study. The third part elaborates Mencius' thought with contemporary concept. In the study, we use following methods such as literature analytic method and historical method. Probe into segment of realistic signification from the historical materialism angle. There are many connotations that surpassing times in the theory of Mencius' moral practice. The theory has the deep impact on the shaping of people's moral character and molding of the national spirit. Many opinions and sights brought forward by Mencius accord with law of knowledge and study. Especially his viewpoint about innovalion in learning enriched and promoted the progress of the Chinese learning thoughts. And can be used and enlightened in modern education theory. There is no denying that Mencius' thought also to have one side which conflicts with the modem society. So we must consider critically and pay attention to adopt and abandon. We must absorb the positive part of Mencius' thought to construct and perfect the Chinese characteristic the new times study theory.
