Research Of The Value Mencius' Personality Theory To Children's Character Formation

At present,China is in the stage of socialist transformation.Facing the impact of cultural diversity in the world,the historical and traditional culture and thoughts and the shaping of contemporarily personal characters in China have encountered great changes under such new situation.Under this background,the indispensable means and key measures for the construction in the field of ideological and moral culture in China are to strengthen the ideals and beliefs,to stick to the cultural self-confidence,and to enhance the ideological and moral character in the nationwide.As an elementary link in the process of shaping individual character,early childhood is not only an essential period for the culture of individual character and moral character,but also a stage with the strongest plasticity and greatest influence.Therefore,it is especially necessary to endow children with excellently cultural thoughts and positively spiritual orientation.Mencius' personality thought is one of the principal ingredients of traditional Confucianism.At the same time,it is also a significantly historical nutrient and cultural source of the outstanding character that our country values highly,which influences the moral criterion and the behavior basis that people have to conduct themselves in their lives.This paper attempts to find some corresponding points between Mencius' personality thoughts and the shaping of children's characters via a systematic analysis of Mencius' personality thought and combining with the rules and characteristics of the shaping of children's characters,and to further explore the value of Mencius' personality thoughts to the shaping of contemporary children's characters,in an effort to provide value direction for the shaping of children's characters.This paper is divided into five sections in total.The first chapter is an introduction,which expounds the background of the topic,the purpose and significance of the research,the present research situation at home and abroad,the research contents and methods,etc.The second chapter is an analysis of the research on children's characters,which principally sorts out and describes the connotation,characteristics and the necessity of shaping children's characters.The third chapter is a systematic analysis of Mencius' personality thought,analyzing its historical background,ideological sources and ideas,providing theoretical support for subsequent research.The fourth chapter is an exploration of the relationship between Mencius' personality thoughts and the intrinsic value of shaping children's characters.Via the analysis of the problem of the shaping of children's characters and the exploration of the modern value of Mencius' personality thoughts,this paper captures the connection between the two and provides the supporting point of value realization for the shaping of children's characters.The fifth chapter is about the realization of the value of Mencius' personality thoughts in the shaping of children's characters.It focuses on elaborating the realization of the specific value of the goals,principles and contents of Mencius' personality thoughts in the shaping of children's characters,absorbing the essence of Mencius' personality thoughts and adapting ancient forms for present-day use,in an effort to promote the effective shaping of children's good characters.
