Mencius moral education ideology is an important part of Confucian ethical theory. Ithave made a great impact on the formation for the theory of China’s traditional moralpersonality, and the theory of them have been moral criterion and behavior basis for futuregenerations. Today, China is in the period of socialist transformation. College students as themain force of the socialist modernization drive. Moral personality education is not only animportant way to enhance the overall quality of the citizen moral, at the same time, it is alsocontributed to achieve tasks of socialist ideological and ethical progress.In this paper, through the analysis of Mencius moral education ideology and combinedwith the characteristics of contemporary college students’ moral personality, point out theirorganic fit to further explore the essence of Mencius moral education and explore its influenceon contemporary college students’ moral personality education. Firstly, This paper analyzesthe background of Mencius moral education ideology. Based on the main ideas of “Theory forGoodness of Human”,“Theory for Human Relations” and “Thought of Benevolence,Righteousness, Propriety and Wisdom”, point out the theoretical implication of Menciusmoral education ideology and provide theoretical basis for the organic combination ofMencius moral education ideology and college students’ moral education. Secondly, Throughthe analysis of the present situation of contemporary college students’ moral personality,elaborate the practical significance, so that obtain a result that the positive role of Menciusmoral education ideology applied in contemporary college students’ moral personalityeducation. Thirdly, on the basis of comprehensive analysis the background of Mencius moraleducation, we should deeply explore their essence, endow with new connotation of the times,and make the past serve the present and absorb its reasonable ingredient. As well as, thoughthe centralized interpretation of Mencius moral education ideology and its contemporaryvalue, and then actively promote the work of contemporary college students’ moralpersonality.
