A history of Christianity missionary work was closely related with Chinese modern history; while missionary work was the twin sister of operating schools. Therefore, church schools had attracted the attention of scholars from all fields because of their unique effects in cross-cultural communication. Christianity middle schools were the mainstay in the church education system, but there is relatively less study in this field. Fujian, due to its spectacular geographical position, have become one of the provinces which do a good job in church education. It is meaningful to studyChristianity middle schools. This essay uses the methods of historical documents and field investigation, compares vertically and horizontally, combines the whole situation and individual cases, then analyses the educational models of the church schools in terms of pedagogy, history and religion. This essay aims to, based on the historical development of Fujian Christianity middle schools and their developing scales, analyze the development of educational model in different historical stages, present its goal, management, curricular arrangement, teaching stuff and campus culture different from those public schools', and finally analyze its effect and limitation.Facing with the two alternatives of inheriting Chinese essence and learning foreign culture, we find it an everlasting topic how to balance their relationship. In the open world of the new century, drawing on the experience of the ancient and observing the present, the author intends to bring some historical enlightenment and reference by the elementary study on this topic.
