Great attention has been paid to teaching students how to learn and how to think, which is the hot issue of psychology. Great attention has been paid to making an inquiry into learning strategies, which is the hot issue of study experts home and abroad. Why do people made strenuous efforts to promote teaching students learning English reading strategies? On one hand, according to the new knowledge standpoint, which considers thatknowledge includes three parts, that is three aspects —— to answer "what",to solve "why" and to make an inquiry into "how to do". No one misses. We can see that integrated knowledge teaching should include these three parts, but in actual classroom teaching, teachers only pay attention to two teaching parts, there are few teachers who think of the strategy teaching. On other hand, according to the demand of the new curriculum standard, the modern teachers should give the learners instruction of strategies.Reading is a very important learning task, which relates to two parts— —teaching and learning. Obviously, subjective efforts of students and objective condition are the important factors that decide the good and bad reading results. But if there are no teachers who give correctly instructions, it is difficult to make a great success in reading study for no matter how good student. Because the function of reading teachers not only teach students language knowledge and the reading kills but also instruct students to practice steadily and orderly. The teachers can help students master the correct learning methods and help students use the efficient learning strategies, train their learning interests, make students smoothly finish their reading learning tasks in order to improve their reading ability. The problemthat is about strategy teaching is very urgent. In English teaching the high efficient reading is the inevitable demand for the students, so reading strategy teaching should be a kind of important teaching form. It has a very great meaning to practice and study reading strategies for English teachers.According to the demand of the new curriculum standard, the English teaching of Senior High School should mainly train the students the following abilities. It is the ability to communicate with the others freely in English. It is the ability to get and deal with information in English. The ability to analyze problems and to think in English, So the English teaching of Senior High School not only teaches students to understand the reading materials that are being studied but also teaches students how to understand the reading materials. That is to say to train the reading strategies to the students, to teach and train them from the reading method and the reading skill in order to train and improve the students' ability of reading comprehension.Since 1970, the study on reading strategies has been paid attention to the new Middle School English Curriculum Standard shows that the learning strategies are one of five courses that consist of the curriculum goals. To train the efficient reading skill is in order to improve the language communicative skills for middle school students. To know how to teach, firstly, to know how to learn. A lot of experimental research home and abroad proved that strategies trained improve the students' reading comprehension. Biased on these, I did the investigation and research between English successful students and less successful students, between boy students and less successful students, between boy students and girl students in their gender. When the students use reading strategies, they showtheir differences on the Senior High School stage.The study uses the method of questionnaire, documentary information, interviewing, after reading examination, take 120 students of Senior High School in Grade Two as for the object of a research project. Specifically, it examined whether there were differences between English successful students and less successful students using reading strategies. It examined whether there were gender differences between boy students and girl students using reading strategies. The characteristics are between the reading strategies and understanding different difficult articles correctly. The result of investigation shows, 1, There are the remarkable differences between English successful students and less successful students. 2, There are the remarkable differences between the boy students and the girl students—only three aspects. Females much more prefer all the other reading strategies. 3, There are also the remarkable differences between the reading strategies and correctly understanding different difficult articles. There are the remarkable differences between the local strategy and the more difficult article; there are the remarkable differences between the easier article and the more difficult article.
