The Study On The Developmental Strategies Of Women's Universities

Generally speaking, women's university is a kind of special higher education to the female. The Monitor Women's College of U.S. which was founded in 1837 is the first one all over the world, while the establishment of Beijing Xiehe Women's University being the pathfinder in China. The foundation of women's university has great significance to the improvement of women's quality and the spread of gender consciousness and it is proved that a large number of excellent graduates from women's universities have contributed greatly to the development of the whole world.The development of women's university in our country has undergone a few stages with the change of the society. Though people have various attitudes towards the women's universities, no one will deny they stimulate the female higher education universities. There have been several high tides of setting up the women's universities after the founding of PRC and enormous progress has been made in both the quality and quantity after 1984, which has illustrated prosperity.Mean while, some people still hold misgivings as to the value of women's university and in fact, even today, this argument still exists. So it is an important task to respond theoretically through deep investigation into the existence value.Why should them develop women's universities? It seems impossible to give an absolute reason, but we can find the relative and sound reason—characteristics. One aspect of this characteristic is the status of women's universities in the system of the higher education and the other is it's own unique features. That's why we should give prominence to the characteristics as the strategy aim to the development of women's universities. In order to achieve this, we should focus on the aim of the talents training, subject setting up, course system, pattern of the talents training, campus culture and so on. It is the original intention of the study to find out an developmental way to emphasize female features and develop first-class women's universities.With various methods such as the documentary method, comparative method and demonstration method, this study points out the basic ways develop women's universities and the solution to some realistic questions. So the predominant character of this study is coming from the practice and applying to the practice.
